Mr Maurice Barasa, Curator of the Nairobi Railway Museum, and Mr G.Tatache, Kenya Railways’ General Manager for Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, are currently visiting UK. Mr Nduva Muli, Managing Director, Kenya Railways, was unable to make it at the last minute.
The delegation visited Tyseley on 5th October 2009.
These photos, taken by John Ashworth, show the delegation with staff from Tyseley (steam and London Midlands depots) and friends of Kenyan steam.

Really nice to see the interest!
Are they off to York? I never made the museum, even though last time I drove through York (but at night!).

Yes, York, Beamish, Shildon (I think), Manchester - not sure where else. Generally they're in UK to get an impression of steam operations and railway museums. There's a real hope that both the railway museum in Nairobi and steam operations in Kenya will move forward now, and this visit is part of the process.
