Very interesting conversation! I know that in the UK you can buy GPS pre-programmed with the Ordnance Survey grid reference coordinates as well as the latitude and longitude.

The rail bridge is still used by rail trolleys - I have seen them cruising across the bridge myself. I think some of the staff use them to go to work....

The line itself however has largely been removed - I have tracked large sections of it (including - legitimately - in areas normally not open to the public) and while the railbed remain as as is, and is generally (embankments included) in reasonable condition in some areas, all the sleepers and line has been uplifted.

It would have been a nice tourist attraction, and in fact would have been preferable to the large number of daily aircraft movements which now occur at Skukuza (and which now pose a real environmental threat).
