Nkoroi residents to wait longer for SGR compensation
Residents of Nkoroi, Kajiado County whose houses were demolished to pave way for the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) will have to wait longer for compensation from the government.

The National Lands Commission Acting Chief Executive Officer Kabale Tache said the compensation was halted after the commission was informed that some properties were being over-valued...
I frequently drive through Nkoroi, and it is interesting to see the rapid progress with the SGR.

Inheritance battles delay Sh4.6bn SGR land compensation
Court battles, inheritance fight cases and family disputes have delayed release of Sh4.6 billion compensation to 660 persons whose properties were compulsorily acquired to pave the way for construction of the Nairobi-Naivasha section of the standard gauge railway (SGR).

The National Land Commission (NLC) told Parliament on Tuesday that the billions lie idle in the bank due to fights over the SGR proceeds...

"Sh4,651,256,098 for 660 project affected persons is yet to be disbursed, partly due to court cases, succession cases, family disputes, encumbrances and lack of ownership documents”...
