Uganda builds railway link to Kenya’s SGR
Just to be clear, this is not a "seamless" link, as cargo will have to be transhipped from the Kenyan SGR to the Kenyan metre gauge at Naivasha (or at some unnamed place in the bush where the SGR ends which is euphemistically being referred to as "Naivasha"), and from there it should be a "seamless" journey from the revamped Kenyan metre gauge to the revamped Ugandan metre gauge.Uganda has signed a Sh5 billion deal with a Chinese firm to revamp its century-old metre gauge railway line between Malaba and Kampala to create seamless travel from the Mombasa port.
