Kenya passenger timetable

An unofficial Kenyan passenger timetable, with thanks to the East_African_Steam group.
Kenya: Passenger train timetable December 2008, showing normal motive power.

Mainline services: days of running (departure) indicated.

1. Nairobi-Mombasa. 93 or 94

3rd class only, but experience shows that most passengers make intermediate journeys. I have always got a seat by boarding early at the terminal station.


5. Voi-Taveta: service withdrawn.


Nairobi commuter services
All services run Monday-Friday only, except Kahawa which runs Monday-Saturday as indicated. Power is 92 as available, the balance provided by 62/93/94. All 3rd class only.

2. Rolling stock of the commuter trains is normally stabled in Nairobi and makes ecs journeys as appropriate. So if you want to ride the last evening service out, the train crew will most probably let you ride back.

Quite interesting and those station names really sound great. I am sure they are not so wonderfull, but the names are really good. Must be a wonderfull line to travel on.
