702 Radio Interview - Chamdor etc.

Today, at lunch, there was a really good radio interview on 702 - with Chris Janisch, Nathan Berelowitz and Ed van der Heever as the main participants.

The whole interview was of interest and it may well be pivotal in (hopefully) in reallly generating a worthwhile response/interest from the powers that be...........

The file is 11mb and too large to load here. I could split it into a number of seperate rar files, but this is just going to cause complications for people wanting toi upload it.

So if you want to hear it (it e-mails OK to most people) please send me a PRVATE MESSAGE via this Forum and I will e-mail you a copy!

NOTE I will only mail the files in the evening or early the next morning.

It always surprises me how long talk shows stay on one topic. I get interviewed for radio and TV news a lot (for work, not for railways, unfortunately) and they usually only want a couple of minutes worth of pithy sound bites. This one goes on and on and on. Some of it is quite interesting, but I find the sound quality of some of the phone-ins quite difficult to understand.

I can send you the full version - where the sound quality is a bit better, but not much - at 959mb!

I noticed the quality issues as well - Chris was not that clear, but Nathan and Ed came through well. Again,as you say, a couple of caller did not come out too well. But that was the live sotry as well.

If you want the file from this site, right click it and use the FILE SAVE option. To your desktop is usually good!

DO NOT TRY TO OPEN IT DIRECTLY!

I suspect Chris was on the end of a rather typical, poor quality cellphone link. I know that radio stations hate conducting interviews on cellphones, preferring good old wired phones, but often they have no other option. I uploaded the interview at the same quality as the one sent to me. Sounds as though is was recorded via microphone rather than a patch cable.
Incidently, I cannot find an audio stream of the show on the 702 website (I know ClassicFM makes audio "podcasts" available, but it seems 702 does not). This is all I have found:
JENNY CRWYS-WILLIAMS SHOW 27 September 2010 1:20 PM
Our rail heritage
Following a depressing report in the Sunday Times about our old locos being stripped for scrap metal, JCW tries to find out the hardships in trying to protect our rail heritage.
Guest: Chris Janisch
Organisation: Historic Rail Association of SA
Position: Chairman
Website: http://www.friendsoftherail.com
As always the accuracy of media is a problem: "Historic" instead of "Heritage" and FOTR's website address instead of HRASA's.

What a shame that there is no better version of the broadcast than the 11mb wma file Steve posted to find in the internet.
I listen just to this broadcast. The host is clearly to understand but I have some difficults with the telephone callers. Sometimes they are not
so clear tounderstand.
I think I must listen later and listen harder to what they say.
There are so many podcast of shows on 702 Talk Radio but of all things this one not.
