Vale agrees Malawi rail link for Mozambique’s coal exports

Brazilian mining group Vale has signed a deal with the government of Malawi to construct and operate a new railway link within the country as part of its Nacala logistics corridor.

The development will allow the miner to transport thermal and metallurgical coal from its Moatize project in western Mozambique to that country’s Beira port, on the Indian Ocean. The 137km railway section project...
