Indeed very interesting. Also noticed that the sleeper distance seemed to be quite a bit less than the 800mm we have here.

Re: World's tallest train set built at St Pancras station
Well done John. I would never have guessed that "tall" and "train set" could be used in the same context. I had to see it to believe it.

Casey Jones at the Throttle
Nathan (Casey Jones) B. trying to emulate the American Railroad folk hero. You can tell by the blurred background that Nathan really has his foot on the gas! Re: Hermanstad sunrise
Your usual good composition Chris. The tree, the sun, balanced by the loco and smoke with their industrial background, and all framed by the catenary system. And the tiny lone yellow vest humanizes it all. I'd say Picture of the Month!

Thanks Derek. Fantastic photos. From the photos the haulage rope, or cable, is only viable on the uphill side of the tram. Is that right? Tom

I think the Cosmos came to South Africa from Argentina in horse feed during the Boer War.

Photo no. 1 - another beautiful shot, to compare with the same loco, also in snow, in parts 2 and 13.

Just to prove that Gabby actually did clean, wash and bathe this little steam stoker engine himself.

Mad Water
John did all the stenciling but in the process created a potential mad monster. (For all the old Defense Force guys, notice the beautiful spit-shine reflection. Were your shoes ever that good?)
