Re: 9.N Scale garage layout
Fidel everything on my track is Atlas so hopefully someone else have Peco stuff, but I have noticed sometimes when running a train the empty gondolas tend to derail over a switch because of how light they are. When I add a bit of weight the seem to run without problem. Maybe try a heavier wagon and ...

9.N Scale garage layout
These N scale diesels dont have ditch lights so after searching around on the web I found that you can easily make some using fibre optics. So here is how I did it... After taking the shell off make 2 small holes in the front where you want the lights using a hot needle, it goes through quite easily ...

This is how I built the signals: I cut copper tubing into small pieces, glued a very small piece of hardboard at the bottom for a base. Then soldered the ground leg of a red/green 3mm LED onto the copper tubing, at the other end a piece of wire was soldered. Then 2 wires gets pushed through the ...

Re: 7.N Scale garage layout
Hi Arno, my layout is also constructed so it can be moved if needed. It is built on 4 tables bolted together, only problem if I have to move is I will have to cut through the tracks which I hope dont happen soon! Unfortunately I dont know anyone modeling the Sishen - Saldanha line but as John said ...

7.N Scale garage layout
Time for some pics again. What I have been doing up to now is adding ground cover and ballasting, still need to make a few trees though. Also I built a few signals (not working like real ones, just showing a constant green and when a train pass it changes to red and back to green after about 10 sec ...

6.N Scale garage layout
Time for some pics again. What I did first was to build some roads. I used old pieces of Woodlands Scenic roadbed as molds and made the road from polly villa. Once it was dry I sanded it smooth and paint a dark grey colour. But I think it is a bit to dark and will made it a bit lighter in futur, and ...

If the trains is going to stop at Kimberley what will be left to photograph down here? Premier Classe, Blue Train and Rovos seems what is left. The other day when I took a trip to the Wellington area I was there for a few hours and didnt even see a freight train.

Very nice report Hansie, did you pass any freight trains along the way between Worcester and Voorbaai perhaps? Sometimes late on a Friday night there is one running but not always.

Re: Pics of 6e1's on the way from CPT - Durban
Hi Morne or anyone that knows the place. Question about Durban station, how is it there? Is it safe to wait there for the return trip the evening? If I do this trip I dont think I will go to far into the city itself and will probably just wait around the whole day.
