Significant Milestone Reached For PRASA’s Gauteng Signalling Project
On 24 June 2021, Siemens Mobility South Africa, reached a significant milestone in the Gauteng 1 (G1) and Gauteng 2 (G2) Re-signalling project for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), having now successfully commissioned 76 of 88 stations. The contract awarded in 2013 involved the replacement of PRASA’s signalling and train control systems in Johannesburg and Pretoria, which included the delivery of SICAS S7 electronic interlocking system, the Gauteng Nerve Centre, ACM 200 Axle Counting Systems and BSG9i Points Machines, among other items...
