Railway Safety Regulator’s State Of Safety Report 2020/21
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga, has officially released the Railway Safety Regulator’s State of Safety Report 2020/21. The report provides an analysis of operational occurrences and security-related incidents in the rail environment for the reporting period from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021...

more needs to be done to further drive down operational and security related incidents. The Deputy Minister denounced the ongoing destruction of rail infrastructure and highlighted the importance of implementing security plans that are aimed at curbing the scourge. She acknowledged that a total of 10 076 negative events were reported during the 2020/21 reporting period, with 2 024 relating to operational occurrences while 8 052 are attributed to security-related incidents...
