32. November 2008 - Upper spiral is extended!!!!

Post by Kevin Wilson-Smith »

When we left off the last time, the top part of the spiral on the left of the layout had been completed. The upper level now needs to be extended so it runs around the layout to the right hand side.

Picture 1 shows the angles from which the various photos were taken.

Picture 2 shows the spiral to start off with - the arrow indicates where the upper level will be built.

Picture 3 shows the first part of the extension build. This will be the upper, scenic'ed level.

Picture 4 -Further extension to the first corner.

Picture 5 -Around the corner, "over a river" and down over the yard. Notice here that the bridge is already in place - scenery will be built around it.

The point in building the bridge a this stage is to ensure that the track remains stable and level.
