37. December 2008 - Digital Control Set-up & Track Plan

Post by Kevin Wilson-Smith »

What does the Commander do?

Well, this is really going to be a voyage of discovery - it is complex and we have only started playing so we can fully understand the functionality.

The digital control in Part 35 does not come pre-configured - it needs work to set it up.

Photo 1 - Starting the unit up gives you a home screen similar to that shown. Function buttons down the side and selected locos at the top.

Photo 2 - Via the touch screen the display modes can be changed.

Photo 3 - Ditto with the scale of the display.

Photo 4 - You have a railway, you need a track diagram. This screen, along with the touch components and the mouse button are used to enter in the track plan. Here it is being drawn, with a piece selected. Lots and lots of symbols are available.
