A derailment occurred at the TransNamib Swakopmund Train Station on 16 March 2021 at approximately 13h30. Regretfully one fatality was noted in the initial statement. Four locomotives, 25 wagons and a stretch of track infrastructure sustained significant damage. No harmful or hazardous goods were being transported at the time of the accident.
