Class 24 3638 "Skukuza"
Some pictures some of you may find interesting of the Class 24 steam loco at the station restaurant in Shukuza rest camp, Kruger National Park. Difficult to take photos of it due to its position in the station.

Barend,
Another excellent series of photos, even though as you state;"Difficult to take photos of it due to its position in the station."
Never been a "Stuffed & Mounted" loco fan, however this certainly appeals to me, and certainly I would make an effort in the near future to visit the Kruger, so get a personal view of this excellently kept loco!!
"Off-the-eye" the locomotive looks 100% complete and in very good condition and certainly well looked after, either by National Parks Board (NPB) themselves, or by restaurant management of Shukuza rest camp.
3638 looks to have nice "full" tyres and certainly no signs of rust anywhere!
Love the latice work on the roof support up-rights. Excellent feature that adds atmosphere from days gone by!

Re: Class 24 3638 "Skukuza"
The loco could probably steam out of Skukuza! Last time I saw 3638 a few years ago she was complete down to a shovel and drop grate handle on the footplate.
