FOTR forum downtime

Post by John Ashworth »

From our web host or server or whatever the correct term is:
We wanted to send a final reminder concerning the migration of your server to our Irvine data center on 9/24/2012 at 5pm PST. We estimate that the migration will be approximately 4 hours or less of server downtime.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
From our site administrators:
Please be aware that the FOTR website and forum may be down during the period mentioned.
I believe 5 pm PST on 24/09/12 is 0000 on 25/09/12 (or midnight 24/09/12) GMT/UTC.

This move appears to have gone off without a hitch. I am aware of no problems whatsoever.
Let's hope that this new datacentre brings faster site response times. Although it would be difficult to measure and certainly if response times are poor, for us determine where such problems, if any, lie.
