Cliff Petzer RIP
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cliff Petzer, who died today. Cliff was one of the stalwarts of FOTR, and probably one of the most experienced steam drivers in the world with half a century on the footplate. He was the man who taught many of us how to fire and drive, always emphasising safety first, and teaching us many of the little tricks of the trade which don't appear in any textbooks. He was an all-round good bloke, always a pleasure to be on the footplate with him, and he could be relied upon to muck in and help with any preservation tasks that cropped up. Others who knew him much longer than my twenty-years can probably say more. The world of steam has lost a great member, and a lot knowledge and experience has gone with him. May he rest in peace.

Re: Cliff Petzer RIP
John, well said. A great benefactor to FOTR and steam preservation and an all-round great person. He will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences and sympathies to his family and friends. MHDSRIP.
