The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - Duke Video

Post by Kevin Wilson-Smith »

Similar to the Isle of Man Railway, here again we have a train that is still running in its original form some 100 years later.

Known as the toy train, this Railway is reasonably famous, and the DVD does a good job of portraying its operation from the plains of Siliguri up to the Darjeeling.

Some nice shots of the trains going through the villages are included, as well as the famous loop.

Extra features also include an interview with one of the key personalities involved with the Darjeeling Himalaya railway - Sherab Tendul, as well as unreleased clips of the train in action.

Highly recommended if you are interested in this Railway, especially as the DVD is easily watchable and is available locally, again at around only R 130.00 - a real bargain!
