Train Mountain

Post by Jim Nolan »

As a bit of an antidote to bashing innocent pieces of metal into bits of a 25NC I am at Train Mountain this week, at their triennial event.

Although not as busy as the other ones I have been to, apparently $3 a gallon for “gas” is expensive! Still it’s a great week with always something new to see. All 7.5 gauge with a plethora of gaily painted diesel outlines. There was still plenty of real steam to drool over including a NP 2-6-6-4 that I had not seen before.

Hi Jim!

If only I had the cash to travel, I too would have been there!

I'll make it there one day! Great pictures.

Gabor,

Spent my last day today riding behind UP 4-8-4, 828 Dean and Randy Chase owner and driver respectively just love to ride. They are on the rail all day, at about 3 in the afternoon they picked up extra cars to make up a 27+ car train. Randy picked up the rake and just hammered it up the 2.6% grades. What an afternoon!

Got to start saving for 2012
