Tshwane outing for 3117

Post by Chris Janisch »

On 30 August, our flagship 15F 3117 made a rare appearnce on a Tshwane Explorer. She was booked to work to Cullinan on 29 August, and when this train was cancelled at the last minute it was decided to do some shunting at the Park instead on the Saturday. The F was prepared and so she worked for the weekend. Beinh heavy on coal, we prefer the Dolly for the Tshwanes which are light work.
A variety of shots are posted below, and she got into her stride at Pyramid South!

I love that first shot! So railway workman-like, lots of character, not just another regulation steam shot, with the "F" steaming round the curve and under the signal gantry.
