Another load out from Capital Park. 15F 3117 departs the current site with a suburban coach soon to be used as spares for a further coach conversion, to add to our set. With the ongoing relocation to Hermanstad, every opportunity is used to relocate items. The DZ full of loco ash will be used later as back fill.

The crew of 3117 "City of Pretoria" give a friendly wave, as the Friends Of The Rail Tshwane Xplorer heads upgrade towards Loftus Verselveld station. Of interest here is the earthworks for the Hatfield leg of the Gautrain construction. The embankment has been cleared and in the background is a new bridge. Soon the new formation will make this location a part of railway history.

Midday, and the Tshwane Xplorer of Friends Of The Rail eases up the grades from Walker street station to Loftus Verseveld station with her 8 coach set. The speed limit dictates a slow pace, so that the construction work on the new alignment for the Gautrain can carry on. At present, the new embankment is being constructed and the bridge works for the Gautrain are just out of sight to the right on the curve. Soon, even this location will become history.
