I hope the weather man has some sunshine planned for Durbs in the coming weeks! Nice shots.

I'm sure going tender first up the coal stage must keep the fireman on his toes watching the boiler water level..

Brendon, you're dead right about the water level!

For me probably the saddest part of our forced move from CPK to Hermanstad is that we will no longer be using this authentic and interesting coal stage.

The first trip up caused a major prime due to an overfilled boiler. The second attempt was preceded by a blowdown, and no problems resulted.

I suppose that the steep gradient is also compounded by 2650 having a domeless boiler..
