Occupation delays essential FOTR maintenance run

Post by Tom Macrery »

A solitary Rovos track cleaner insists on completing his asignged task before allowing a FOTR maintenance run access to the right-of-way. After a short delay the track cleaner wandered off to have lunch at another spot allowing our patient crew to continue their run.

No choice but to wait until the occupation is lifted.

Nice pics Tom.

Certainly only an African experience, within the confines of a city, let alone a railway depot!

Next time, RVR needs to announce any intended occupations in writing, and will have to post these notices on our notice board, so that we are all made aware of them in future . . . .

BTW - I don't see that the necessary "protection" was applied for this occupation!

I see Steve is bringing the oxy-acetylene torch into position. Was flame-grilled ostrich on the menu?
