Again an engine nice and complete and in good condition.
Has a square tender - nice to see this - completely changes the look! Nice doda on the front as well.....!

found just your pictures of the Class 19D at Gold Reef City. Nice pictures of the engine.
I was there nearly one and a half year later and the look of the steam engine has changed. I was always wondering which one it is. Because you took photos of the 19D with the number plate, I know now which one it is.

And as usual, someone has got it horribly wrong!! Apart from the claim that diesels are "more reliable and faster" than steam locos (perhaps it is because I've done most of my travels since the 1970's - but I can say without a doubt that I have experienced way more diesel loco failures than ever seemed to happen in steam days - and faster, well, that is debatable too...) but the construction date of 1942??? I would think that Germany would have had quite a few issues higher up its agenda midway through WW2 than building steam locos for (Allied) South Africa!! What a laugh!
