A few pics taken of 6e1 units on my recent trip from Cape Town to Durban and return! This trip was the week just before the BIG strike started, lucky me I guess!!

Looks like a Rovos train in the background of the second pic. Was that at Durban station?

I've never understood why Durban and Park stations are dark and gloomy. On one trip leaving Durban, I couldn't see anything as the lights weren't on at the platform nor on the train. I fumbled away in the dark until I found a switch in my cabin

On an overcast day Cape Town is also not much better. The lighting on the station is poor. The new Century City station had such bright lights, you could play 20 20 cricket under the lights

Looks more like the Blue Train next to the 6E1 locomotive.

Hi Morne or anyone that knows the place. Question about Durban station, how is it there? Is it safe to wait there for the return trip the evening? If I do this trip I dont think I will go to far into the city itself and will probably just wait around the whole day.
