This suburban coach is currently being restored by our contractor, Pekinese. Before long it will be looking as good as our other suburban coaches. When this is finished, there is one more to be restored, eventually giving us a set of ten suburban coaches.

Those subs are beautiful inside. That rake of coaches is stunning. Its a pity that aesthetics no longer comes into design.

I am curious, when do these coaches date from? I this style in service when I was young in the 60's, but they were used on the 3rd class trains mostly.

Some were put in service in 1949 and some in 1950. Some are ex-2nd class and some with slightly wider seat and window spacing are ex-1st class.
