A new gallery is being fitted out on the Mombasa Rd end of the museum, complete with access ramp.

This is obviously good news, but where is the money coming from. Not takings at the museum surely?i

On my vists to Nairobi i keep meaning to visit but time and traffic are always against it.

I get the sense that Kenya Railways is investing a bit into the museum, and the steam engines, in the hope of raising some revenue from them. You're right about the traffic - getting to the museum is awful.

Three weeks later, huge progress can be seen as the clean modern partitions are erected. There is already a tentative booking to use the building for a meeting in April, a potential source of revenue for the museum.
