FOTR's own South African painting controversy

Post by John Ashworth »

With all the current controversy about a rude painting in South Africa, it's worth remembering that FOTR's own illustrious chairman had to face the same problem several years ago. Attached is a photo of Trainman taken by Miemie at Witbank in August 2007. Nathan's dubious pride is maintained by a rather small locomotive number plate artfully photoshopped onto the picture by the photographer, who was no doubt shocked by what can only be described as "not a pretty sight".

Rhe Spear of the rails! I tell you, it was tough holding that plate in place, I had to use a piece of "hard grease"!
