Starting in Bulawayo on 02 June and ending in Victoria Falls on 11 June 2012, this was the first Zimbabwe steam tour to utilise diesel assistance between runpast locations. The most obvious change is that the trains no longer needed an uxiliary water tank behind the Garratt, and often the coach could also be excluded from runpasts. This gave more authentic looking goods trains on the Bulawayo to Plumtree and Victoria Falls lines.

Zimbabwe, Kenya and Eritrea seem to be some way ahead of South Africa in that regard!
