Photography on the Gautrain Forbidden.

Post by Kevin Wilson-Smith »

Photographers should note that is in offence to take photographs on the Gautrain premises or in trains or their buses.

Section 8, 4c states.....

No person may within the premises or within a vehicle of the Gautrain network-

...take photographs or record images.....

Penalties are R2,000 and or 2 years imprisonment.

This was as of July 2012.

And note there have recently been reports of photographers being harassed. See here for an instance......

So the FOTR forum contains evidence of this offence in the form of photos taken on the Gautrain with the names of the criminal photographers attached? I hope the Gautrain security folks don't find out... (!)

Yep, its becoming very dangerous to travel with the gautrain, you may be arrested for not sitting up straight or for not letting passengers disembark. One of these days somebody is going to take them on and its going to come out in the courts and be very messy and expensive.
Not quite on the rails.
