N Scale SAR

Post by Adrian Hill »

Ok, so the time has come to put a plan of action in place. These are some of my thoughts on developing SAR in N scale:

1. Kato running gear.
2. 1:160 and not TT

I could easily do a full Trans Karoo set including a couple of 5E's

Your thoughts?
1. Do you think Kato is a good way forward?
2. What about 1:160 vs 1:120?
3. Should I do a Trans Karoo or a Blue train?
4. What would you like to see in N scale SAR in order of importance?

Thanks, Adrian.

1. I don't know enough about running gear to comment on Kato.
2. I prefer 1:160.
3. I'm not very interested in the Blue Train and would prefer something more everyday.
4. Personally I would like to see a steam loco rather than an electric, maybe a 15F or something.

Adrian,

I would really like to buy a set of TransKaroo coaches. I have several european coaches, but all of them have windows too big, and no neck on each end of the carriage. I'm looking into having the carriage sides lazer cut, but I have to find out what is needed for that, ie. what software to have the blueprint on, etc.

I have several 5E bodies and powered chassis, so I wouldn't need locos.
