Hexriver tunnel siding

Post by Hermann Kuhne »

Please some info if possible. The passing siding inside the Hexriver No.4 tunnel, what is the length of this siding, and if possible what is the setup (exactly where in the tunnel is it situated). Is it just a parallel siding to the mainline or does it have "head shunt" space as well? Any info welcome.

Hi Hermann. Unfortunately I do not have much information on the tunnels (tunnel number 4), except what is published in these weblinks. I do hope that there are others who may be able to answer the question in more specific detail.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hex_River_Tunnels and https://sites.google.com/site/soulorail ... ouws-river . The latter reference has many interesting historic photographs.
