The Railway Man - Eric Lomax

Have just read an amazing book called "The Railwayman", by Eric Lomax. It is of his account during the war as a prisoner of the Japanese, much like Dick Gillats Dad's experience, but when you read the way he describes steam power and locomotives, it is so evocative, just like Pierre De Wets writings, that you want to become a part of the railways.

Read this one.
