Steam loco drivers cap

Post by John Fellows »

Could anyone tell me if there was a "standard" type of cap issued to loco drivers in steam days, or was it a case of wear what you want ?
Any photo's of drivers would be most helpful ( I've acquired 2 SAR cap badges, so a cap to suit would be nice!).
Many thanks John

Hi John, thanks for your enquiry. There was a standard flat peak cap that crews were issued but never had a badge on, although the guys did affix one on. I do have some so you can contact me by email on nbtrainman@gmail.com
