Codrington siding

Post by Richard Wadley »

Hi there.
Can anyone tell me the origin of the name CODRINGTON siding or station, which is located on the Pretoria-Polokwane line, between Pienaarsrivier and Bela-Bela? Another siding, RADIUM, is situated a mere 5km to the south of Codrington. The names and purposes of both are an enigma.
Thanks and regards,

Thanks, Richard. Just to let you know I've forwarded this link by e-mail to a few people who might know the answer, but no response yet.

I've fired steam trains through those sidings, but I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your query.
