Derailment Incident In Vryheid: TFR Train Derails in North Corridor
A recent incident in Vryheid has disrupted the operations of Transnet Freight Rail (TFR). On Thursday, May 11, 2023, Train 6605, enroute to Richards Bay, derailed on Line 01 at the Mqwabe bypass, located between Dumbe and Vryheid. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. The train at the time had a total of forty-nine (49) loaded wagons were involved in the derailment, causing disruption to train operations in the area. However, trains continue to operate on Line 02, albeit with reduced capacity due to the impact of the incident...
