Unthinkable? Bring back the Circle line
Since 2009, trains no longer do that useful loop, so passengers have to change at Edgware Road...

Interestingly on a recent trip to London, at King's Cross, my wife and I boarded a Circle Line train west-bound en-route to Kensington knowing that we would have to change at Edgeware Rd. After several minutes of being held just outside that station, the driver announced a change of plan saying that this train would now be heading south after all. No change necessary for us!
For just this one train, the Circle Line was reinstated!
