Last year we welcomed two new eager members at Friends of the Rail, and another one younger member who often is seen around railway line/s, yard/s and depots. They have shown the interest in what FotR is busy with, and they now have also offered their services to assist with preparing and lighting-up and preparing of our locomotives.
We welcome Jaco Nieuwenhuis, Philip Snyman and James Lee Attwell as trainee firelighters. We hope they keep raising steam for FotR, and we wish them all of the best!

Well done guys! Thanks. Welcome into the fold! That's the start, but all that determination and hard graft will pay off when you qualify at the top.

Welcome, gentlemen. It's hard work and takes a lot of commitment, doing some pretty tough and boring things as well as the more exciting ones, but it's well worth it in the end.
