Boy's toy engine becomes the first locomotive to be sent into Space
A man in California, USA, bolted his son's 'Thomas the Tank'-style steam locomotive to a weather balloon... and sent it into Space!
At an altitude of 18 miles, the helium-filled balloon burst and the loco crashed back to Earth, but was found 27 miles away with the help of GPS tracking equipment.
The engine's flight can be seen on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoMN-zg7r3M
