3117 - illumination

Post by John Ashworth »

Underfloor lighting to enable the fireman to see the injector is working in poor visibility. This was fitted by Robert Dadford. Two more such lights have been installed either side of the valve gear of the 15F 3117

Robert has now fitted lights under the front end - useful for servicing the loco at night

Underfloor lighting fitted on 3117 near the valve gear will enable the driver to do some early morning greasing and oiling. Robert Dadford and his assistant Louie have been hard at work fitting the electrics on this loco, additional to the original specifications.

Nathan wrote:The soft glow of the underfloor lighting fitted to 3117 will help the
Footplate crew to check on the injector operations in poor lighting
conditions. Ideal for a late firelight! Robert Dadford fitted this and a
second light, near the front end motion of the locomotive.
