What should I photograph if I am interested in trains is a question I have been asked a couple of times.

My answer – everything! Every train, every interesting object etc. Let me explain.

All my life when taking photos, I have tended to be selective, and indeed everyone has, having lived in the age of film cameras. Remember however that we have now gone digital……

This equals basically free images. So, you can afford to take what you want, and store them on a drive or whatever medium you choose.

And, I tend to take “everything” (with a pinch of salt!) because color schemes change, while even things such as signals, stations, rolling stock, people and everything else all have an interest.

And certainly, if not now, then in the future. THIS IS THE POINT! How often have you heard the cry – “Remember those? I wish I had a photo……” !
