Here are a few photos from one of my web pages describing a visit to Maputo in 1976, when I was third officer aboard a Dutch freighter on the Europe-Southern Africa run.
A view of the loco servicing area at Maputo docks in November 1976. The right-hand engine is a very much run-down ex-SAR class 15BR.
A beautiful 1917-built Baldwin 2-10-2.
331 class Pacific on a short train.
Former SAR 15BR struggling with a heavy load whilst one of the 0-10-0Ts oozes steam. Dead centre in the distance the funnel and masts of my ship.
