Nowadays this old line is used for sight-seeing on a train trolley. You will hear the interesting history of the line and the unique fauna and flora along the way will be pointed out. The journey takes 2 hours each way. Picnic to be enjoyed at the tunnel station. Enjoy stunning views of the Hex River Valley.
Meet: at Veldskoen Padstal, just beyond De Doorns. Directions: Drive along N1, De Doorns is 25 km past Worcester. Allow 2¼ hours travel time. Note: order picnic basket 72 hours in advance at R85 pp from njordaan@telkomsa.net or cell 083 292 0348 OR pack your own picnic, all drinks, warm clothing, rain proof jacket, sun cream and hats. Toilets at farm stall and at turn around point. The coaches have a canopy roof and clear flexible side sheets.
