The Railway Suppliers & Manufacturers Association held its 1937 convention in Atlantic City, NJ. While the bulk of the event took place at Convention Hall, there was also an outdoor equipment display at the then-new Atlantic City PRSL station. Notable exhibits included large steam locomotives from Alco and Baldwin, early diesels from EMD and Alco, and one of the first Rock Island Rocket trainsets from Budd. The B&O showed off its penultimate experimental, duplex drive 4-4-4-4 the George H. Emerson, while the PRR displayed its newly streamlined K4 and a GG1. All of this activity was accomodated while handling regular service in and out of the station.
