Sludge

Post by John Ashworth »

Our coal comes with a lot of dust. After a while it gets wet and becomes like black mud in the bottom of the coal stage, so periodically we have to clean it out. Here we have placed our NZ under the chutes to collect the sludge. Nathan and Koos clamber over the chute while Kosie is inside the coal stage shovelling.

It was amazing how much waste coal was removed. Also shows some of the gritty behind scenes work that goes on, into making a successfull train operation happen.
