First Coal Train From Botswana Arrives In Maputo
On 26 April 2022, the first convoy of 40 wagons, with 2,000 tons of mineral coal, arrived from Botswana, passing through Zimbabwe to Mozambique, through the Limpopo line. The arrival of this train officially marks the beginning of the export of mineral coal from Botswana, through Mozambique. The program recommends carrying out 4 trains per week of 2,000 tons each, aiming for a target of 384,000 tons per year. According to Augusto Abudo, Executive Director of CFM-Sul, the Limpopo line is available and has the capacity to accommodate 4 weekly trains...
