Three years since going silent, Roodepoort’s train stations are being reclaimed by nature
PRASA aim to have services resume buy {sic} mid-2024 at a cost of R700 million... Next week marks three years since commuter activity on the platforms of South Africa’s train stations was brought to a halt. Shut down as part of the South African government’s coordinated response to the global health panic of early 2020, one of the most sophisticated rail networks on the African continent is now little more than a graveyard of economic aspirations...
