Passenger train collides with van

A passenger train collided with a delivery van on a level crossing in Northumberland, police said.
The incident happened at Bardon Mill when the 1627 BST Northern Rail service from Newcastle to Whitehaven struck a DHL delivery van.
The 30 passengers and train driver were unhurt, but the van driver was taken to Hexham General Hospital.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said the driver's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
An investigation is under way involving Network Rail and British Transport Police.
Some disruption to services is expected.
