Even though it is a European layout who says a US test train cannot run !

It's a good way of testing the loading gauge - if a US train will run without fouling anything then you can be pretty sure that all European stock will be OK!

There was a big debate - should it be European or American. At the end of the day European is most popular.

It could have been generic too - not one or the other - but somehow it seems to be heading for a classic European feel. This is also reflected I thiunk (and as a result of) the track plan, which is a typical European one. The hidden level is very sweeping and open and lends itself more to US running.

I suppose though when the layout is finished "ghost" trains will still creep through when no one is looking too hard!
