How do I insert a URL?

Let me share what I've learned from experience with BBCode. I'll use < > in my examples instead of [ ] so it doesn't actually do anything, and repeat it with [ ] to show what it does.

When you click the URL link on the menu bar above it gives you <url></url>

To get a link to work properly as far as I can see you need to put = and the address in the first set of brackets and whatever text you want to appear in between the two sets of brackets:

<url=www.friendsoftherail.com>Friends of the Rail</url>

Or you can repeat the address between the brackets and then it appears in full but as a link:

<url=www.friendsoftherail.com>www.friendsoftherail.com</url>

www.friendsoftherail.com

You can then get fancy and insert colours, underlining, etc:

<url=www.friendsoftherail.com><color=#4040FF><u>Friends of the Rail</u></color></url>

You can get coloured text by clicking on the "Font colour" menu on the right hand side of the text box.
